Inaugural Jay McLeod Family Law Professorship

Hilary Linton taught Family Law Dispute Resolution as a visiting professor at the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law this past January. She was the law school’s inaugural “James G. McLeod Professor” in family law. The professorship was established in honour of Jay McLeod, a leading UWO law professor who  passed away suddenly in l ate 2005. Jay was considered to be the nation’s foremost expert in family law by academics and practitioners alike,  was much beloved and is much missed.

“Jay enormously influenced all of us who work in family law”, she said. “He kept us well-informed and well-entertained. He gave family lawyers across the country reason to be proud of what they do. It was an honour to teach this course in his memory.”
