Elizabeth Hyde, Acc. FM

Following four years as an educator in the public school system in Toronto, Elizabeth spent seven years as a family law practitioner. Her practice dealt with all aspects of family law, including marriage contracts, separation, divorce, custody and access. Elizabeth then spent ten years as senior management in a large national law firm as the Director of Professional Development. This experience has given Elizabeth cutting-edge exposure to current issues in legal education and a strong sense of future trends. Now an Accredited Family Mediator and instructor with Riverdale Mediation Ltd., Elizabeth is taking her commitment and passion for intelligent and practical solutions to legal disputes to a new level. Elizabeth is also the Executive Director of mediate393 inc., which provides family mediation and information services for Toronto’s Superior Court of Justice at 393 University Ave. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario, while currently enrolled in the LL.M (ADR) programme at Osgoode Hall Law School. Elizabeth is actively involved in a number of community organizations, both within and outside the legal community and is currently a member of the OBA ADR Section Executive and Editor of the section newsletter. In addition, Elizabeth teaches Family Mediation at Humber College and has guest lectured in the ADR Family Mediation class at Western University Law School.
