Leading members of the legal profession:

• As the past chair of the Ontario Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution section (www.oba.org).  Ms. Linton worked closely with legal and ADR colleagues to advise the Attorney General's office on recent amendments to the Arbitration Act and the Family Law Act. Ms. Linton is a frequent presenter at bar association continuing education programs.

• Members of the family law bar, such as Philip Epstein, (www.epsteincole.com) one of the province's most senior and respected family law practitioners, with whom Ms. Linton has co-produced a training video for use in teaching negotiation skills to family lawyers.

Members of the family therapy and counselling profession, including:

Dr. Barbara Fidler, Registered Psychologist, Toronto. (drbarbarafidler@sympatico.ca), Dr. Fidler is arguably the most respected and sought-after professional in the field of high conflict parenting disputes. Ms. Linton and Dr. Fidler work together to teach various courses, including family arbitration and parenting coordination and family law.

Linda Chodos, MSW, Toronto. ( lindachodos@rogers.com ) Ms. Chodos, one of a renowned group of family therapists working as divorce mediators, and Ms. Linton have worked together in parenting coordination/family law training.

Beatrice Traub-Werner, Program Director, Toronto Advanced Professional Education, Toronto. ( www.tapestudies.com ) Ms. Traub-Werner is well recognized for her innovative work in the family mediation field. Ms. Linton has been a part-time faculty in the Family Mediation Certificate program at T.A.P.E. for several years, teaching family mediation and negotiation theory and practice.

Jan Schloss, MSW. ( www.familymattersassociates.ca ) Ms. Schloss, one of Toronto's most respected social workers and parenting coordinators, and Ms. Linton have acted as co-arbitrators in a complex financial and parenting dispute.

Professor Emiterus Fred Zemans, Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto. ( www.osgoode.ca ) Ms. Linton has had the honour of being a member of Professor Zemans' teaching team for the Lawyer as Negotiator course for second and third year law students for several years.

Professor Michael Coyle, University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law.(www.michaelcoyle.com) Professor Coyle, an expert in several fields including mediation, negotiation, aboriginal law and contracts law, has collaborated with Ms. Linton on several projects including offering mediation and negotiation training.

Dr. Barbara Benoliel, Preferred Solutions Inc. (www.preferredsolutionsinc.com) Dr. Benoliel is widely regarded for her research in the field of restorative justice and victim-offender mediation, as well as her excellent work in resolving family business disputes. Ms. Linton has had the distinct pleasure of working with Dr. Benoliel in presenting restorative justice training in various contexts, including for members of youth justice committees on behalf of Toronto Advance Professional Education.

(www.barryfisher.ca ) Mr. Fisher, a renowned employment mediator and arbitrator, and expert in the field of employment law, has worked with Ms. Linton in numerous teaching, speaking and consulting engagements.

Claudette Reimer and Lisa Wice, Mediators with the Mediation Centre, Barrie Ontario.
( www.themediationcentre.com ) Ms. Linton, Ms. Reimer and Ms. Wice have collaborated in the past on numerous projects, including providing training for lawyers and mediators on the subject of violence and abuse in dispute resolution.

Heather Swartz, Agree Dispute Resolution Inc. , Toronto,
( www.agreeinc.com ) and Roger Beaudry, Stitt, Feld, Handy, Ottawa ( www.adr.ca ). Ms. Linton, Ms. Swartz and Mr. Beaudry worked together to prepare and deliver a series of trainings for educators and parents on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Education.

Madam Justice June Maresca, Ontario Court of Justice, with whom Ms. Linton interned as a mediator and with whom she has had taught family mediation theory and skills.

Media collaborations

Ms. Linton's most recent collaboration, with Winnipeg-based Frantic Films (www.franticfilms.ca) is underway. The pilot episode of the television show "The Feud", featuring Ms. Linton as the mediator-host, is in production. This will be the country's first television program featuring the use mediation-arbitration to resolve difficult disputes.

Interns

Ms. Linton typically has 2-3 interns working with her in her mediation, arbitration and teaching practice. Ms. Linton provides internship opportunities to mediators who are training in the field and seeking experience. Most are obtaining the necessary qualifications to become accredited mediators. Ms. Linton selects her interns personally and carefully. All interns must enter into an internship agreement that respects the confidential and professional nature of mediation and arbitration processes. Interns may observe or participate in the process as co-mediators or lead mediators under Ms. Linton's supervision.


Some interns past or present include:

Catherine Davison, lawyer-mediator, Peaceful Resolutions, Toronto. (cedavison@gmail.com) Ms. Davison practised mediation in association with Ms. Linton at Riverdale Mediation for over two years before striking out on her own and is now an established mediator in Toronto.

Susan Jack, lawyer-mediator, Smith Family Law Group, Toronto. (sjack@smithfamilylawgroup.com ) Ms. Jack is a highly-regarded Toronto family lawyer/mediator who is working with Ms. Linton as an intern/co-mediator on various matters.

Dr. Joshua Lam, ( joshua@torontomediation.ca ) pastor-marriage counsellor-family mediator. Dr. Lam is currently the pastor of a Chinese church in Toronto, who is developing his family mediation and dispute credentials so that he can become an accredited family mediator.
