Students at the UWO Faculty of Law have given Hilary Linton full marks for her course, Family Law Dispute Resolution.
The second and third year law students took the intensive course as part of their January term course requirements in 2009.
“Great January term course, breaks the usual law school mode….. most involved, interactive class I’ve ever taken here”, wrote one of the students in the class evaluation.
Another student wrote, “I’ve never had a practitioner who has so much knowledge to share AND is able to effectively communicate the knowledge AND genuinely take the time to teach. THANK YOU!!!”
Students, who ranked the course overall above the faculty average, found the course enriching, practical, valuable and inspiring. “Learned real world skills. Great job, thanks!!”
The students commented on how valuable it was for them to learn from real life experience and the actual case studies that Ms. Linton uses when teaching her ADR courses.
“I am now MUCH more interested in this area after taking this course”, wrote one student.
This was the second time Ms. Linton has taught a January term course at the UWO Faculty of Law. She will be teaching a similar course, along with colleagues Tom Bastedo and Dr. Barbara Fidler, as part of the Osgoode Hall LL.M. in ADR in 2010.
