Services Provided: Family Mediation, Arbitration and Parenting Coordination
Elizabeth is the Principal of Medius Dispute Resolutions and a roster mediator for mediate393 inc., a family dispute resolution service that is subsidized by the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. Elizabeth’s private practice, through Riverdale Mediation Ltd., is focused on providing effective and informed family mediation, arbitration, mediation/arbitration and parenting coordination involving parenting plans, child and spousal support and property division.
Through her work, Elizabeth has developed expertise in working with high-conflict families both during the time of separation and with parents as a Parenting Coordinator when ongoing conflict continues following separation.
Elizabeth’s experience includes several years as a public school educator and seven years practicing family law in Toronto. In addition, Elizabeth spent ten years as the National Director of Professional Development at a national law firm before starting Medius 10 years ago.
Elizabeth received her Master of Laws (ADR) at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2013 and is a sessional instructor in their LL.M. program. Elizabeth was an Adjunct Professor at Western University Law School teaching mediation and negotiation. Elizabeth designs and delivers a range of training programs at Riverdale Mediation including training designed for small groups of professionals.
Elizabeth is the Co-chair of the FDRIO Parenting Coordination section, Co-chair of the Youth Project for Mediators Beyond Borders Canada, past chair of the ADR section of the Ontario Bar Association and past member of the Child and Youth Law section executive. In addition to her ADR practice, Elizabeth designs training programs and dispute resolution processes to address issues of bullying in schools and communities.
