A Personal Journey with Riverdale’s Asynchronous 10-hour IPV Course

By Riverdale Mediation alumni, Stephanie Kuiack

My recent completion of Riverdale’s 10-hour Update in IPV and Power Imbalance Screening for Family Arbitrators & PCs has prompted me to share my experience with this fully asynchronous program. From the seamless website navigation to the engaging course content, my journey with this course has been nothing short of exceptional.

Website Navigation and Registration:

Right from the start, my experience with Riverdale’s website was positive and user-friendly. The comprehensive list of courses, the option to join waitlists, and the proactive communication regarding upcoming courses demonstrated the institution’s commitment to a smooth learning process. The online payment process was effortless, and the early responsiveness and assistance from Training Director, Frank Guerreiro, set the tone for a connected and supportive learning environment.

Course Accessibility:

The ease of logging into the course eliminated the initial hurdles that often come with online learning. Riverdale’s commitment to a user-friendly interface made the entire process mindless, allowing me to focus on the valuable content rather than grappling with technical challenges. The simplicity of logging back in after a prolonged absence, with the added benefit of my progress being saved, further enhanced the overall learning experience.

Engaging and Relevant Content:

The course content itself was a standout feature. The videos seamlessly blended presentations, topical conversations, role plays, panel discussions, and vignettes from UWO, providing a well-rounded and immersive learning experience. This unique approach held my interest throughout the 10-hour course, making it a refreshing departure from other mandatory training sessions. The investment in course design and delivery was evident, creating an engaging atmosphere for participants.

“Riverdale’s commitment to a user-friendly interface made the entire process mindless, allowing me to focus on the valuable content rather than grappling with technical challenges.”

Flexibility and Self-Directed Learning:

One of the most significant advantages of Riverdale’s program was the flexibility it offered. The self-directed nature of the course allowed me to complete it on my own schedule, a convenience that is invaluable in the demanding world of family arbitration and power imbalance screening. This flexibility not only accommodated my personal schedule but also contributed to my overall success in the program.

Conclusion:

Every aspect of the program contributed to a meaningful and enriching educational journey. I extend my gratitude to Riverdale for making self-directed learning a seamless and rewarding experience. I look forward to the continued availability of course notes and resources, eager to revisit them for ongoing professional development. Thank you, Riverdale, for setting a benchmark in online education!
